Sandbox Tech Child Care is celebrating over 20 years of working with children!!!
Sandbox Tech Child Care has been operating for over 22 years, since 1984, providing quality daycare for your children. All Sandbox Tech Child Care Ltd. locations are licensed child care centres. The centres are inspected by our local Health and Fire Departments. The Ministry of Community and Social Services comes in to inspect. All inspections are unannounced. We have a great environment for the children to explore the wonders of good old mother nature. We have our new playground, and a huge meadow for the children and staff to visit.
Sandbox Tech is privately owned and operated. We have 2 child care centres. Both offer all day programs for pre school ~ child care, as well as 1/2 day nursery school program. We offer a positive learning environment. Active exploring, age appropriate activities for your child's growth and development. Children have a right to be heard and we need to listen to them with respect and understanding. No two children are alike. We are trying to keep Sandbox Tech small so it can be like a home away from home for the children. Our before and after school programs run out of Montgomery Village Public School, Mono Amaranth Public School, Caledon Central Public School in Peel, as well as our Hwy# 9 location. At the moment we are working with Belfountain Public School, Peel Health and Fire Department as well as the Ministry of Community and Social Services in hopes to open up a before and after school program for the families in Belfountain by Sept. 2007.
Below is information about Sandbox Tech including our health and safety policies, our staff and our child care philosophy.
Health and Safety- Nutritious foods and beverages are provided throughout the day
- Our health guidelines and emergency phone numbers are posted clearly
- The center is cleaned daily
- We are inspected by the Dufferin Health Inspectors
- A wonderful meadow for both staff and children to explore
- Private playground (with equipment that meets the Canadian Safety Standards)
- We have a UV Water System
- All staff use a "Team" approach with positive energy, and attitude
- Educated and experienced in early childhood education or equivalence directors approval
- Staffing levels are maintained with the requirements of the Child Care Day Nurseries Act
- All staff have training to deal with the growth, development,educating, behaviour management of children 6 and under
- Staff are thoroughly screened by our local Police Department
- From time to time we have a student volunteer working in our centres. These students are under the direction of a qualified staff member. This is a wonderful opportunity to health our youth get some experience and an asset to our centres
- Resourceful and caring
- Receive annual performance evaluations
- Caregivers are given the opportunity to continue education and/or training programs
- All staff have their C.P. R., Child's First Aid, Police Record Check and up-to-date Immunization
- Our Cook had just received her Certificate from The Wellington Dufferin Health Department for the Food Preperation Course

We the caregivers at Sandbox Tech Child Care & Before and After School Programs believe that each child is unique. Each child develops at his/her own pace. Children learn through play, live experiences and by doing for themselves. A child's play is a child's work. We us a phonics based approach when dealing with our letters. We give them the best start, by helping the children get ready for "Big School" in a positive way.
Our program is designed to foster self-esteem, self-confidence, competence in self-help skills and language abilities necessary for effective social interaction.
We stress the process of learning and discovery rather than always the product. We need to get active everyday and to enjoy being active. Lets get outside!!
We encourage children to feel good about themselves as a consequence of their own achievements. Our goal is to support children in their active exploration and to help them become self-confidant, independent and inquisitive learners. We help the children become ready for "Big School". School readiness is a great help for your child, your child's teacher and to you as parents. We want our kids to feel that they are the best!! You know what they ARE THE BEST!!
We foster a warm loving relationship with your child. To gain the child's trust, and to become like a second family. Through this atmosphere the children learn by balancing physical-motor, social-emotional and cognitive experiences. We foster the love of stories, using your imagination and the child's own creativity.
School age children need to know their limits as well as the pre-school children. They need to learn respect for other children. for adults, belongings and for themselves. Children need to talk about situations and not to use their actions. They need to understand the consequences because of their actions. Children need to learn to make choices ( we hope the right choices) and learn from them. These are skills that children need to learn for life!!
Sandbox Tech fosters opportunities for parent involvement in the centre through different themes and activities. Parents are welcome to drop by the centre at any time to observe, or read a story to the children or give their child a hug. Ideas for fund raising and field trips are also welcome. When parents get involved everyone benefits through this interactions.
Children learn first hand by seeing and doing for themselves. This is done through interaction with other children and adults in their lives. Through all the above we hope your child becomes a caring, active, individual and fosters our philosophy into their play and work, for the rest of their lives when dealing with people, animals and our environment.
